  1. I honestly wanted to read this article but sorry it is only a self satisfaying article. Some one’s wish and allegation can not be facts. Among thos “The historical irony is that now PIA is criticizing horn countries for creating alliance in their fight against the savage Alshebabe in Somalia.” …is non sense . More over it is official that alshebabe promised to attack the PIA gov’t and PIA or GOE does not mention or advocate for alshebabe but demand for all somali inclusive political forum..

many similar fabrications only in the first few paragraphs…

  2. To Saba

Sorry to tell you that your article lacks a professional basic ground and expert of an adviser . I went through your article ( by the way I am not an expert ) , it is quite an embarrassing , nothing to substantiated or proof of contrast to justify your point of view, more or less it sounds like a coffee House chat talk scrambling from here to there, not alone to call it advising article for God-sake, it is not even worth the paper, ink and time that you spent . At last on your article, you mentioned that you getting some sort of therapy out of this pile of colossal garbage article, please don’t fool yourself , see a professional physician immediately . Good luck

  3. Senait,
Thanks for trying to explain the wish of Eritreans who never saw any change in life even after Eritrea became an independent country. Isaias cannot leave in peace. Peace brings questions about democratization and accountability. Peace brings questions about transparency and rule of law. Peace brings questions about normal life. All of the questions that I mentioned before are enemies of Isaias. His hands are socked with blood and he long ago decided to keep killing people until one lucky bullet takes him down with his cohorts and family like Sadam Hussien and Mohmed Kadafi. He is ignorant that after killing innocents civilians and comrades in Arms he would think those who are associated with him will live in Peace. How can he be so ignorant? He is despot who does not like to see youngsters live a normal life. He does not want to see them among the society because he is scared that they will overthrow him. He wants them to spend all their life in the army. If they do not like it in there they can perish in Senai and Mediterranean Sea. That way he is safe. He is the most stupid person Eritrea has even known. The good think is everything will come to an end and Eritrean will get a chance to heal. He may think that by alienating Eritrea from the world he will be successful in creating another Cuba in the horn of Africa where he and his cohorts will lead it for life. He should know that, that will never happen.

  4. It is a well paid art of defamation to wards PIA and the Eritrean people. If US has enterest in the Horn, why not Eritrea? She said ” art of good deplomacy is GIVE and TAKE ” Which one to take ? Eritrea or in her word PIA has the right to keep her entrest first not USA or western.

It seems that you are the lawyer of US and spokeperson at the same time!!!!

I only like to tell her MIND your Bussiness!! We know how to hadel OURS.

  5. Dear Senait,

I could not read the whole writing of yours….it was enough for me to understand that you’re either ignorant of the whole situation or you’re to blame of this whole mess PIA…. In your words you said that the then American Ambassador didn’t know of the war?…My dear, i guess we’re old enough to believe in this statements specially when it comes from some US officials…As usual he was trying to fool kinds like you…they knew exactly what was happening and, who knows probably they’re the one who encouraged and advise MZ to go to war….So my dear, be realistic and, as you said, let’s call a Spade a Spade…

  6. Honestly, from the heart, after reading the 2 first paragraphs, i got so bored, I interrupted my reading.

  7. You are far sighted and truth teller.
But,be informed that PIA and his diaspora supporter
do not want peace, at least this time. There are more
would be refuges left in Eritrea soon to start journy.
These people do not know that time is changed and govts this
days are compromising for the safty of their citizen.

    Wait and see

  8. Dear Saba,
Thank you very much for ur time. I’m very informed and know what exactly has happened now. I’m very angry to hear about what like siye abrha did to my ppl. I’m happy he suffere in the hell for 6 yrs and more to come.
I realy wish if PIA read it. I dont expect he wuold take some useful advise from it but at least he knows WE Eritreans know the truth. I believe change will comes from inside Eritrea by those ppl around him but waiting the right time. It is happening look what the pilots did last week.
    Thanks a lot.
    LONG LIVE ERITREA.

  9. Who started the war ? please go back and learn the history of this particular bloody war before you address to the PIA.
Who killed the generals when invited to negotiate concerning the friction before the war started.?

  10. Hi Senait ……you are 100 percent correct ,those who think and believe otherwise
should read ,ask and learn before the sun sets on their “beloved Eritrea”. DIA is
arrogant, irrisponsible ,lier and lier ,please accept the fact .

  11. The writer is one sided and very domesticated to the western Ideology. If writer points the war was started by PIA while the starting point of the war was Badime and the same Badime was awarded to the person who started the war. So, for any logical person; the is a red flag something a amiss. You don’t start war to invade your own land.
The other weakness of this writer is; believes too much on the so-called diplomacy. She said “give and take” the truth is there are give and takes when the white man is dealing with Africa. They take your resources and they order you what to and what to say. So, please spare from your misguided analysis. I do like to see election, constitution and all that but I don’t want to see it because the white man told us to do it, hell no!
In fact, the writer singling out Dawit Isaac to be released shows the writer’s corrupt and misguided character. Why Dawit Isaac? hmmmmm

  12. Do not take it EASY dear Senayet the attitude of ethiopians towards Eritrea goes beyond PEA and border conflict. There is no ethiopian who want see eritrea as a country. To understand this issue you do not need a masters of poletical science putting your feet on their shoe is enough. At last if whatever you said is a genuine mistake try to wake up,cheating yourself is your right but missleading our people is crime. All what we supposed to say is the reality and leave the choice to our people. The difference beetwing Seye and Meles is[ EBOLA and AIDS].The so called friend of Eritrea MELES was trying to kill every eritrean slowly.

  13. This is what they call “garbage in, garbage out…” it can never, even remotely be considered as an advice (I know that is sarcastic…) other than PIA bashing version 11223344, which by the way is nothing different than version 0, except in a regression mood. the document does not even address the abstract in bold at the top, let alone prove the true intention of the US in particular and the west in general. the author does not even have the decency of referring to numerous wikkileak documents that substantiates the negative and destructive policy of these western countries, in particular the US. you can hide in your cocoon and spew and repeat the same tired propaganda much less than an advice, I don’t think there is anybody that can fall for this kind of cr@p

  14. Dear Merkeb, absolutely right! You nailed it! As there is a start for everything, there is also an end to everything, and Eritrea will eventually heal from the wounds inflicted upon her from this lunatic despot and his few cohorts. May God bless our beloved nation, and give strength to our youth!

  15. Senait,

You need to do a better research to find out about who is to blame in starting the war between Eritrea and Ethiopia. Your story tells us nothing new but a repeat of what the enemies of Eritrea are telling us to justify their crimes against the Eritrean people. There are simple facts about who started the war. I don’t think you disagree with the illegal occupation of Badme town by Ethiopia before the fight starts. That in itself is declaration of war by violating a sovereign Eritrean land. But the Eritrean leader ship chose to handle this illegal occupation with full of wisdom to avoid conflict and tried to settle the problem in peace full manner. The Ethiopian regime continued to violate Eritrean land by further moving the border line by placing stones dip in to Eritrean land (remember the action of aboy teraray), the Eritreans who was living in Badme were suffering by the daily harassment of Ethiopian soldiers and they were complaining why the Eritrean government is not taking action to protect them, on top of this, the Ethiopian regime illegally occupied another Eritrean town of Adi murug. So it is clear that Ethiopia has started the war. But the Eritrean government still refused to react to the war invitation of the Ethiopian regime. They chose to avoid war thinking that they can settle the problem peacefully. The last attempt to resolve the problem from the Eritrean side was done by sending a committee that includes high Eritrean military officials and they were murdered by the savage Ethiopian regime. Thus, Eritrea was forced to react to that specific crime to defend its citizens. At the same time Eritrea showed its genuine readiness to settle the issue peacefully. Since the Ethiopian regime was already determined to go to war, they played as a victim in front of the world and officially declared a war against Eritrea. About the US relationship with Eritrea, as long as Eritrea is controlled by the Ethiopian regime Eritrea will enjoy warm relationship with them if not what you see is what you get. Stop putting the blame on PIA. He is the man of and wisdom integrity. By writing this article, you have chosen to be one of the propaganda tools of the enemies of Eritrea.

  16. Halewlewlewlew…akli zibiet!!,….the author of this article is a just “under the weather” and she has to open her heart and see things objectively, and thus it subsides her soliloquy.

  17. Zerom,
No one says Ethiopia is not at fault. We all know that it occupies Eritrean territories including Badme. The problem is when you go back to the genesis of the war you clearly see that Isaias did that to stay in power. Isaias wanted the war as an excuse to retreat from his obligations to democratize Eritrea and possibly for him to leave office early. Ethiopia was not prepared to engage in war with Eritrea and his communication with Meles about Adi Murug is useless as Adimurug is now is declared to be Ethiopian territory. That makes Meles’s claim that his army did not cross Eritrea valid.
The truth is all is done for power. The power hungriness of Isaias and his cohorts can be seen no more other than their age. Now they are in their seventies and eighties. Creativity declines with age. This is natural phenomena. However for Isaias and his cohorts is not about creatively and leading Eritrea into a bright future. It is about holding in to power. Now most of them have no energy left except holding on to the chair. Most of them are sick and are not even healthy enough to spend time in their offices. That is one major evidence that Isaias and his cohorts do not have a future plan for Eritrea. Let alone administering a country they do not have the stamina even to secure their only presidential plane. Sorry to say this as an Eirtrean, but the truth is they are done and we are in trouble as no replacement is available to takeover. By the way you should remember that before he was arrested ten years ago the brilliant Petros Solomon told Isaias that the old EPLF guard should transfer power to the new generation. That tells you haw visionary he was. He is the youngest of all EPLF executive members.
The other thing is Isais’s backward conflict resolution mechanism. When Meles was faced with strong opposition from his party members he used a very wise conflict resolution mechanism. He simply expelled those who opposed his rule. Nothing personal grudge and now some of them are mourning his death. What did Isaias do? He constructed a new prison and put them in there for life. Do not forget the young and brilliant amateur journalists now they are languishing in prisons for more than ten years. If there is a land where this is happening in the world it is only Eritrea. That makes Isaias a different creature. A couple of days ago in his interview with VOA Yemane Gebreab called it a humanistic way of handling prisoners. That tells you who those people are. By the way we are talking about this because it is done in front of us in the broad day light. You need to ask yourself about what they did when people were not watching during the liberation struggle. There is no question that Isaias and his cohorts did eliminate so many innocent Eritreans for the simple reason that because they did not agree with them.
The fuss of self reliance. Isaias uses such economic ideology to keep westerners away from ‘Eritrea and tighten his grip in power. Indirectly it means do not interfere with my power. I will do whatever I want with the poor Eritrean citizens to in salve them, to collect money and run my fiefdom for life. Do not interfere with that even though the very people I am forcing to pay the 2% percent tax are the victims of my administration. Why is Isaias happy to borrow money from china, Libya, and Qatar but not from the Western countries? Because they do not ask for democratization, human rights, and rule of law. By the way the human right issue is haunting Isaias. It is not going be long before he is accused of human rights violations and tried in the International criminal court in The Hague, the Netherlands. Off course that will make the sufferings of Eritreans worse.
Unlimited national service. The very objective of national service is to keep the youth out of the cities and put them under the army. The lack of job creation and poor economic situation cannot absorb those who were supposed to return after 18 months of service. If they come to the city he is afraid that they may overthrow the government. So the 10 years and more national service have nothing to do with Eritrean national security. It is designed to keep Isaias in power. By the way most of them have already crossed to Ethiopia, languished in refugee camps, drowned in the see or their body parts are sold by human smugglers. That makes Isaias safe.
Somalia policy. My conclusion is Isaias wanted Eritrea to be slapped by Sanctions. Why? Because it is one way to Isolate Eritrea from the world. He was warned several times to stop. As Senait mentioned it he did not want to stop. Now the sanctions are another storyline in Isaias’s propaganda machine. Yes play the victim. He should not have played a dangerous game. However from history we all know that dictators fall from power due to their doing.

I strongly believe that Isaias’s time is up. He is a liability and he needs to go.

  18. Senait,

You are doing great and your article is supported with facts. For the person who reads this article with an open mind and who has been following up the crises among others, your article very inclusive of the pattern and misery that we are in at this stage. Ambassador Girma Asmorom was ordered by PIA to advertise or convince the U.S. to come along with PIA/Eritrea to bomb Iraq from Eritrean Red Sea. Remember this was in 2001 and after the war of Badme………………. I guess PIA back then was happy that the U.S. encouraged Ethiopia invading Eritrea. It is funny, but this stupid supporters are blinded deafened that they can only understand things that come out of PIA’s stinky mouth!!

  19. It’s wonderful to see Meskerem hosting articles authored by Ethiopians to give us a glimpse of what goes on in their psychedelic minds. I was especially delighted by the author’s candid remarks confessing that scribbling her version of events, however flawed, provided her a well deserved mind therapy to help her cope with the loss of a leader. Honest neighbors are hard to come by. Cheers!

  20. senait i think you nailed it.The problem with PIA apart his despotic ,dictatorial tendencies is his lapse of judgment, miscalculation and utter lack of diplomatic skills. He gambled when he attack ethiopia and he lost . He gambled again when he childishly try to blackmail the un,usa and others to coerce them to get his way and he lost again. He again gambled on alshebab and other terrorists and he lost again.I mean how much more a habitual moron can you be to keep on miscalcuating at every turn? What is his next miscalculation that is the most appropriate question to ask

  21. Hi Zeroem,

So, those heroes ministers who spent half of their life to liberate you and ended to be in PIA’s jail and day by dying were enemies of Eritrea? What is your answer to this, you stupid subhuman junk?? Trying praise DIA the number one killer? What is your fantasy you animal!!! Do you have feeling for our brothers who are being rapped and drown on deserts and Sea’s of Libya? Why are so protective of this evil and beast the whole world disputed and disgusted for the obvious reasons. That is a crime against humanity and for being a day light murderer!!! How can he be nice to neighboring countries when he is not even nice to the people who spent half of their life with him??? Again what is your fantasy??

  22. Although there are some truth in the article but US hostilities began long before PIA has come to the poletical picture….. this is just historic facts. But of couse so much has changed after independence as a small coutry we should have taken proactive measures to improve relations, clear misunderstaning of the past poletics, and play the art of deplomacy wisely instead of walking out of meetings and slam doors behind you on everybody”s face and isolation the country……..

  23. Senait, keep on invoking and provoking the silent and dormant minds of “The dictator’ s men/women” in diaspora. Not that they don’t know what needs to be done on the regime’s part to make all the wrongs right, they just believe wholeheartedly that making a U turn to make it right for the good of the majority and average Eritrean is against their personal/clan/clique economic interest. Has anyone seen a pack of hyenas agreeing to let go a prey, due to illness, left behind from its peers and happens to be spotted resting under a shade tree? With the exception of Mandela, have you ever seen any victorious rebel group
With extensive jungle style warfare, handed power to the civilians he/she “Liberated”, disarmed themselves to become law abiding and productive citizens of their newly liberated nation? Sometimes, I strongly tend to think that these type of long and hard fought jungle war veterans, joined the fronts at a very young age, became matured/shaped/seasoned adult men and women with heavy doses of fierce battles with their external enemy, revenge/vengeance/absolute in-house cleaning among them, absence of respect and trust to the “outside world who ignored them, hated them, constantly conspired against them”…etc.
In the 20’s and 21st century psychoanalytic theory, these group/groups of former “jungle revolutionary heros, ambush masters, peasants’ organizing cadres” may have fought the right fight for the right cause with vengeance and may have played by the jungle rules to declare victory against their external enemy, and may have risen to the top by physically eliminating their internal opponents (Remember Mengistu and Idi Amin)but let alone to lead, rebuild a nation, bring about reconciliation, conduct constructive diplomacy and come up with economic master plan, they may not even be fit to stand trial for the heinous crimes they committed. So for the proposals/ suggestions you offered, their already made/shaped up mind will react in a predictable manner, I.e. reject, respond sarcastically/arrogantly, counter attack, or completely pretend to ignore any idea that makes them feel “Inferior” because nobody knows the “Unique situation of Eritrea”, so exceptionally unique ” They are the only ones who could understand/govern/ run/control the “Situation”. Thanksf

  24. Senait.

Like you said, DIA blind supporters are bieng feed by Eri TV that Eritrea is becoming a “bad example of good behaviour”, “promoter of self-sufficient economy”..bla bla…

We will keep fighting the end of PFDJ is very near and we will deport DIA to his country, Tembien Tigray.

  25. A very good article save all the grammatical errors. Please proof read before publishing. Some sentences make absolutely no sense at all. But your points are right on target!
All ill that has befallen Eriitrea and Eritreans can be attributed to one man who you call PIA and who I’d call DI – dictator Isayas!

  26. I am one of the Eritreans who strongly believe that Ethiopia should accept the binding border decision for the sake of the common good of Eritreans and Ethiopians. Having said that it is important to say the spade is a spade. One spade is gone and the other is still alive and he is Isaias.
Isaias is the person who led Eritreans to victory and for that he deserves nothing but respect for the years he spent in the bushes for the Eritrean cause. However since 1991 Isaias has become a liability to Eritreans. His unstable demeanor and tendency to solve problems through the use of force placed Eritrea and Eritreans in a dangerous situation. Those who lost their beloved children during the liberation struggle were asked again to surrender the rest of their children for Isaias’s strong appetite for war. After liberation Isaias worked hard to keep himself in power. Despite warnings from his comrades he decided to unleash his army on Sudan. He strongly supported south Sudan which led to the dismantling of the Sudan that we know as the dear friend of Eritreans. Again he misled Eritreans to go to war with Yemen for Islands that finally were given to Yemen. Those wars were not as devastating as the war with Ethiopia. Although the mistakes are almost shared equally by Meles and Isaias I like to criticize the one who is alive than the dead.
The main problem that led to war was Isiaias’s appetite for power. Isaias wanted to stay in power for ever at any cost. Towards that end he preferred to engage in competition with Meles for a position to be a dominant power in East Africa. Once again he decided to use war to achieve that objective. As senait mentioned it Meles wanted to live in peace and he was not prepared for war with Eritrea. He had his own problems. He did not expect Isaias to stab him from behind. Isaias who trained the national service recruits since 1995 felt he could overthrow Meles easily and put Ethiopia into disarray. In turn he thought that would give the power he wanted. That led to the costly war which is consuming Eritrean lives until this day. Some people may think Isaias did it to safeguard Eritrean sovereignty. Although they have the right to believe that way the truth is Isaias started the war out of arrogance due to sheer disrespect of the Eritrean life and blood. For him Eritreans are Expendables. Americans noticed that unstable behavior and decided to punish him. Since then we have seen a serious of Measures that are intended to weaken him to the point that he could not respond to an attack by Ethiopia. In short he single handedly made Eritrea defenseless.
Isaias sabotage to get Eritreans deported from neighboring countries falls into that game. For long time Isaias saw Eritreans who lived in Ethiopia as a threat to his stay in power. He knew sooner or later he would be in bad terms with Ethiopia and when that happens he thought Ethiopia might able to organize his replacement out of Eritreans in Ethiopia. That is why he told Radio France he was planning to destabilize Ethiopia using Eritreans who then lived in Ethiopia. Finally he got what he wanted. All the Eritreans that he thought would be a future threat to his power got deported. By the way he tried to do the same with Sudan but the Sudanese government was wise enough and it only deported the embassy staff and few people who were associated with them.
Sometimes Isaias could be fool. He thinks he can do whatever he wants and nothing will happen to him. Political differences exist everywhere. But I do not know any place in the world where a government arrests high government officials without the due process of law and let them die in prisons. Yes according to his political advisor this action is a humanistic way of handling prisoners. Does this tell us something about the animalistic nature of Isaias and his cohorts? Off course Isaias will live to regret his action. The law is catching up. One day the voiceless will have a voice. That day will be a disgrace to be an Eritrean.
All the policies he designs are aimed at protecting his power. One may ask isn’t right to let the national service members build their life after the 18 months service than letting them stay in the army indefinitely and end up in shelter camps in Ethiopia and Sudan and then fall to the prey of smugglers and the sea. Which one is better? For Isaias the latter is better because it gives him the protection that he wanted to have in Asmara. Dismantling the only university and spreading it all of the country also falls into that strategy, to evict youngsters from the city and avert the chance of uprising against him.
What about keeping old ministers in power. Most of them are in their seventies. They are expired. However Isaias prefers to see them die in their chairs than replace them with young and vibrant Eritreans. Most of them are sick and cannot even stay in their office even for a day. However that is okay with him. It gives him the security he needed to have. It is not about efficiency and effectiveness. It is about loyalty and staying in power.
The fuss of self reliance. Isaias uses this ideology to keep outside interference and demand for democracy , accountability and rule of law away. Instead he borrows money from certain Arab counties and china without those strings attached. Again power comes first.
Somalia. In my opinion he wanted Eritrea to get sanctioned because of Somalia. If he did not want that he should have heeded to the warnings of stop and desist by different amercing officials. His interference in Somalia derailed the chance of implementing the Algiers binding agreement. Now the sanction is one story in the line in Eri TV propaganda. Yes play the victim.
Finally I strongly believe that Isais’s time is up and for the good of the land that consumed the life of innocent and brave Eritreans he needs to cease power before he drags us into another mess.

  27. Please stop cancelling opinions

  28. Madam Senait! First of all i wopuld like to ask you if you are ready to dialogue or debate on 101 basis? that’s my address and i really want to get info’s that i am not aware of, from you and if likel;y to happen i want you to be ready to know some facts and logics about the whole scenario in the Horn and especially within the TPLF & EPLF. Sorry to say that you look a new reasearcher who is eager to know more indirectly through your articles. I am an Eritrean and i oppose Issayas with no reservation but i will not let any one who is not well-versed about Ethio-Eritrea issues, to say whatever he/she may wish. My dear Senait! you are talking a case sensitive issues which exhausted a lot of Ethio-Eritrea scholars , and America know well, by training in-breeds ( indigenous individuals) they can survive with their evil and long-term destructive missions.Issayas might be arrogant which is true but truly speaking, Issayas has affected and damaged Eritreans not any one to simply put. But the general current movement of America and the west is just making Africa a means to mislead their own people who were totally ingnorant about africa. while as you seec it practically, all the evil missions to make small group of people wealthy, living on the shoulder and rich resources of africa has come to the knowledge of every American and Western citizen and as i said you are watching the explosive starting and we will all observe where it direct to. buit as in you both your articles, you look you are obsessed with Islamophobia and at the same time you sound as if you are the typical Habesha breeds who are mislead through Americanization , be it the ideology that you are infected with or the luxuries that you are comfortable with.i am not yet sure whether you are Eritrean Or Ethiopian, it doesn’t matter to me actually, i am a proud Habesha. but the bottom line is we shouldnt run with the wind. We need to have our own rational and neutral stand towards sensitive issues. At last , i can tell you this fact. as you have said it wrong about the American Ambassador in Ethiopia , you forgot that Robert Hodek, the first American Ambassador to Eritrea was the one who knew all well about what was going on between TPLF and EPLF and he was the ever
hypocrite diplomat that the Horn has ever seen who discrimintes two brotherly people one than the other one.He literaly said in his interview that he heard when woyanie was complaining under the excuse: that Shabiya was nearing to Adigrat so they had to prepare before hands for self defense. can you believe this fact and he was a middle priest blessing the war instead of putting an emphasies. And Salt to the wound, he offered millions of dollars to those handful Ethipians mostly Tigray who were deported from Eritrea while he offered the almost 70, 000 + Eritrean origin deportees only 25,000 dollars , that evil act resulted to the outrage of Eritreans who totally went into the resurrection of their burning Nationalism, to the extent of donating their Villas, trucks and their personal ornaments to the war.i don’t that war at all. I call it the untimely and destructive war! period. But , Dear Senait ! these are the American administration that you are following the streamline with. that’s why i dare to say lets dialogue or debate on 101 basis, i mean if you are sincerely concerned person.Pliz lets not dance to the tune, how good it’s to be reday to observe to both sides of the story?

  29. I don’t think the writer deserves much of a response, because the article is one sided for the obvious reason. If Senait is a female for real (which I really doubt) sh/e is lucky to get as many responses as sh/e did, because as sh/e mentioned it above she wrote it for her self-satisfaction, I hope it helped, because sh/e sounds some how disturbed for whatever reason. If the writer was honest enough; at least sh/e should mention some of the real facts… to mention some of them…..

-How come David shine was not mentioned (the instigator)?

-How come you don’t want to mention that-PIA was in Saudi and just arrived in Eritrea when the war started?

-Instead of lying by trying to make some innocent Eritreans who reads to your (???) as if it holds any truth, and try to make us hear you that PIA did not try to solve the issue, then how come you don’t want to mention that Eritrean delegations were in Addis to try to talk to the Weynes and solve the problem, that was one day before the war broke out (like Gen. Sibhat Efrem)? May be you don’t know many things. Ha

-How come you don’t want to mention the letter that was sent by PIA to Meles in 1997, during the Adi MuRug incident? Ha

-How come you don’t want to mention when Eritrean Villagers were complaining about the mistreatment by the Weyane thugs, and our heroes went to talk to the Weyanes to settle things peacefully, but gunned down right there without a warning?

-How come you did want to mention that the US went ahead and announced that Eritrea and Ethiopia agreed the peace agreement initiated by the US, without consulting to the Eritrean Government?

How come you don’t want to mention at least one thing, forget many things because there are many things that the Wayanes did to our people, evil things? Remember? “If we don’t like the color of their eyes they just have to leave”, I think you do.

-What wikileak leaked is not true? Is that what you are trying to tell to whomever is reading you writing . Who are you trying to fool? Wikileaks is an American product documents, it is not an Eritrean documents. Where did you get the idea/fact that whatever that was/is written on Wikileaks about Eritrea is not true… you are; I don’t know what to call you…. Why is it all about what the Weyanes did is all great and it is all about the truth, but when it come to Eritrea it is not great, it is evil, it is a lie and on and on, why?

-You wrote “PIA went on with the war plan when he found out that Meles was not about “to” get intimidated”…. hhahahahahah,,, wey guuuuud,,, who are you trying to fool again, why do you have to go that far to tell us just a lie, don’t you feel lawlessness when you lie. ……………………….
Again, how come you don’t want to mention that Weyane was the first to BOMB Asmara Airport and Eritrea retaliated after. You are embarrassing yourself. Everybody knows who planned and started the war, it was the Weyanes.

-Lady/guy I can keep going on and on and on and write many facts about this issue.

Many Eritreans will read this, and I am sure it will refresh their mind; cus I am not making this up, it is all fact.

-Today is your lucky day, cus at least, I contributed to your some kind of research.

You are out of balance lady/guy!

  30. Teret teret. This is exactly how I picture Eritreans.
People who like to create lies, just to live their dream.
Once I meet Eritrean old man, return deporte, in Addis in a cafe he is filled
by lies,70+ old man, to get what. This time things are
changed what is good is to compromise just for the safty
of citizen. If not,Ethiopia and the world is on the verge of
saying no more refuge from Eritrea.

  31. Hey, those who think the war was started by the intervention of the west, please GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR ASSES. It was started by the two MORONS, who were completely blinded by their conceit and arrogance and have no little care for the well being of their people. Please allow me to refresh your memories. ”kab BADME wetsina malet Tsehay Moyta malet iyu”, ”WEYANE bado gerweyna iyu” ”HIBRI AYNOM afetewnayon el’na kinsegom nkiel ina”, akedimka hade wey kilte GOAL naze’eteka aykonen, etc were not words of wisdom, rather were the road to folly and the ultimate destruction of the two countries and people.

  32. Senait

What a crap! I only read few paragraphs and I still feel I wasted my time. Anyhow, you reminded me of the hotch botch I wrote to my lawyer when I was asking for an asylum, which I regret for doing. And I guess the only rational for your terminal lie is that you probably are an asylum seeker in the US. These are the things they liked to hear so that they can fool other UN members and impose a sanction. But, I have to remind you that the same US officials you mentioned have already concluded in their cables that more than 80% of the youth love their country and government and hence decided to fabricate ‘civic’ societies whose job is to bribe people against their country using a ‘nationalistic’ sentiment and pretense of Ethiopian hatred. However, what you wrote does not fit this, as you have put too much flattering that even the officials (to whom you are enticing to be their stooge) will surely laugh at your lavish statements. Wake up Senait!!! You are too late for the train has already departed.

  33. I think DIA has succeeded in making this sectarian to think that USA and NOT him is to blame. Look that is how African Dictators stay in power forever, Joseph Mogabe of Zumbabia, Al Beshire of Sudan, Godafi until his death, and Central America/South America leaders such as Huga Chivaz, Fidel Castro, North Korea’s Kim Il-sung until died replaced by his son and more… All of these countries are very poor countries yet governed by a dictatorial regime. They all blame the U.S. and the West for their poor governing and undemocratic one party system. All of these leaders have forever threatened their people of the West and U.S.. A system of intimidating their people by using national security first scam and stay in power comfortably with NO accountable at all!!! So, people like Alem Habte Nega stop lying and deceiving our people and stand for the people before history eats you alive. We know what you are up to!!! Stop fooling yourself!!!

  36. I am one of the Eritreans who strongly believe that Ethiopia should accept the binding border decision for the sake of the common good of Eritreans and Ethiopians. Having said that it is important to say the spade is a spade. One spade is gone and the other is still alive and he is Isaias.

If he did not want that he should have heeded to the warnings of stop and desist by different amercan officials.

  39. Every society has its own lazy people. Therefore; Eritreans are not the exception. Their leaders wanted the people to work and to be self sufficient some chose to follow the filed way of life in Africa, to immigrate and be beggar. As you an Ethiopian; you should know better about begging and dependent, my friend, yes Eritrea too have baggers and lazy people. You can find them all in Tigray refugee comp.

  40. Zeroem,
You are nothing but another Moron. You said “Ethiopian regime illegally occupied another Eritrean town of Adi murug”. Do you know that the border commission ruled Adimurug belongs to Ethiopia. That means meless was right to tell Isaias that his soldiers did not cross Eritrean territories. I think you lack analytic skills. Go to school.

  41. I don’t think the writer deserves much of a response, because the article is one sided for the obvious reason. If Senait is a female for real (which I really doubt) sh/e is lucky to get as many responses as sh/e did, because as sh/e mentioned it above she wrote it for her self-satisfaction, I hope it helped, because sh/e sounds somehow disturbed for whatever reason.

-How come you don’t want to mention that the US went ahead and announced that Eritrea and Ethiopia agreed the peace agreement initiated by the US, without consulting to the Eritrean Government?

Again, how come you don’t want to mention that Weyane was the first to BOMB Asmara Airport and Eritrea retaliated after? You are embarrassing yourself. Everybody knows who planned and started the war, it was the Weyanes.

-Lady/guy I can keep going on and on and on and write many facts about this issue.

Many Eritreans will read this, and I am sure it will refresh their mind; cus I am not making this up, it is all fact.

-Today is your lucky day, cus at least, I contributed to your some kind of research.

  42. Tomi

Instead of coming with a constructive and make sense ideas of exchange, all your posting looks like out of touch away from the subject matter at hand . It seems you use and tilt from the real issue to spew your hatred toward the greatest prevailing visionary leader of our modern time PIA . but no matter how you try, you only look stupid , nothing can change the ground . long live PIA

  43. He give only this and that.Childish character.
You always blame superpowers for your problem.
That could only use for your moral boost.
But can’t help fix your people’S problem who faced
historic suffering who even became among the preyer list
    of popo Bendect.FACE THE TRUTH.

  44. It’s quite accepted and historical truth to blame America and the west. I am not running away to give safe shelter for our leaders that they are tyrannies but don’t forget America has been a pick-point and responsible for destroying our globe hey? be it the drug scandal, sale of ammunition, exploiting african rich resources et al……,you should be a reader , you shouldn’t be an emotional. Emotion has not served any one right. Go back to the shelf of any library closer to you and read ” Who controls the world”, “Alqaeda”, “In God’s name” “Terrorism” etc….you will see the filthy act of America and the West . to your surprise, every book which is written or serving to expose America and the West was not written by Issayas or Asgedom, they are written by sincere and concerned citizens of their own, I will still blame Americaca and the West for interfering inbetween Ethio-Eritrea issues. As Madam Senait stipulated, it’s not Issays to blame , It’s the external forces who tempted Issays and made Meles to be a monster. And since she started , she is just acting as a mouthpiece of the notourous CIA nothing more. She’s just telling us storie of Islamophobia that our ears are tired of nothing more or less. i think this is enough for you if you get it right but i can also see from your statements you don’t look deep in accademy. So don’t write for the sake of writing ,otherwise you will be wrapped up with embarrasment and humilation.Eritreans have tremendous capacity to handle their own issues , the ball is in their court, unless they opt to remain and live silent with the misery which is affecting them, unless and otherwise whatever is said America and the west still remain responsible for distorting our globe period! keep well.

  45. If you want to understand who Hugo is and his ideology, recently the well known media figure and MP of Britain George Galloway has been to Venezuela and he will tell you the right description of Hugo. You guys have a specific screen to follow. I don’t respect and support for leaders to stay in power but i don’t also swallow that the leaders who were fighting for freedom of their countries to be undermined as well. they had a proper mind when they fought for freedom and it’s their own people who made them to be dictators through extreme praises.that’s true! But the bottom line is America and the West have never wanted a leader of third world country or whatelse to stand against their interest it is deep rooted but not to late we still have the power to uproot that evil doctrine and that is only achievable through mediation not emotion. We have dictators , tyrannies but no doubt we are the ones to blame ourselves that’s what is called ” Self-realization”. Our own issues should be solved through our own ways. And there are elements to do that. Our culture, Our tradition, and Our limited Capacity and above all being ourselves.Tell which African is now happy with his africanism? are you telling me because of our dictators or distortion of forgetting our culture and tradition and submit to the west medias , movies and perishable glitterings? We are confused my friend. We are confused, we need a total change of mind.

  46. Alem, every thing heard and seen are too
much for the little Eritrea.Totally unproportional
to the size. The suffering of Eritreans are immense
there is a need to policy change in Eritrea,in the land where
there is no law. Blaming superpwers canot be an excuse
for all problems. Moreover, far us you understand what
I want say do not try to offend me by my english,I am
    certified in my profession.

  47. Senu – U did a great job. For Diaspora Higdefites, who leave far away for Eritrea, the truth & the reality is simply unacceptable. But for us, who are in Eritrea, it is a reality. For them Eritrea & the current regime is one & the same. Eritrea=Issays, if Issays is ousted Eritrea ceases to exit. I challenge them to put off their emotions & try present evidences to disprove what is written above. They don’t think good for Eritrea & its people, otherwise they would have challenged the Government – why an exodus of Eritreans youth is undergoing in huge numbers? why there is no constitution? Why there is not justice? They know the the answers but they don’t want to accept it!

  48. My simple comment was directly targeting to the collective blame and praise tio Issayas by Senait. that’s all what i can tell you. I am not undermining any one , if you felt that way , i am deeply sorry! all what i am saying is, once again as you said it , we don’t need change of policy, we need change of Government and to do that, you and I ,should stop blaming Issayas and hosting unenecessary forces that are destroying our social fabrics and our true political mission. Issayas should be uprooted absolutely and it’s you and I who should mobilize our own youngsters to do the homework, be it through financial support or going to the risky areas of politics. Eritrea had come through Risks, trials and tribulations, and now, the real and true freedom and all what we wish can only happen through sacrifice. To do that Our Unity and our social structure should be intact. This currebnt situation must not take our Natural image. we shouldn’t dance to the tune of Tricky Ethiopians or America. Because of our current shaken tendency, every evil iforce is coming in. We shouldnt let any force to do our job we are the main actors. If Senait says too much, she is working for an institution who wishes Abysinia to be an island of cristianity under Pax-Americana, if another one says this and that, he/she is serving certain foreign political institution. so our isssue is our issue , lets stand up and eradicate the so called Issayas and his cliques. But something i would like to underline, is that Issayas is only enemy to his own people “Eritreans”. There were areas that we supported him with and there are areas now , that we are bitter with and the bitterness is taking the weight much.So who should do the homework? it’s you and I fullstop! Senait is not feeling the pain, Senait has not lost any one in her family.Senait was not harassed by the filthy Bodouins over the phone, it’s you and I as Eritreans .so Senait has nothing to tell us about our own issues and politics of the horn . Let her do it in her own yard. i found out that she is an Ethiopia and i am over certan, that Ethiopia is in a mess now, if she zeals and wills, she can contribute something to her own country. We Eritreans , we are both Islam and Christian and being one as leaves of one branch, we achieved our independence. And still ,i strongly believe we Eritreans , whether islam or christian to do our home business together united as before. Once again, i refuse to host external forces who tactfully desire to distort the social, cultural, political and traditional embodiment of my people. As it goes in the Arabic ” kulu sheref Hagu”, these entities like Senait are striving for their hidden agendas and interest. Izi wodahnka!

  49. Dear meskerem

To post this kind of nasty and garbage writing on you site is historical blander. You should check at least the historical fact before you made it public.

  50. Thank you Senait for speaking out. Unfortunately, there are so many of them who are victimized by the never ending decades old media propaganda of Isayas. We know how horrible Eritrea is sadly becoming. And who is to blame than Isayas??? Thanks indeed dear Senait.

  51. “More near than you” what does that mean. meaning that you ara trying to tell us you are in Mekele. get lost you d!ldo head

  52. Dear meskerem

How come you detele my post is that you can’t stand the truth or for some divine reason

  53. I don’t how an honest person can dismiss the exchange of letters by PIA and PMMZ; you can question everything as you should but to ignore the best evidence what evolved is beyond me. So, I agree with you, the writer is simply talking gossip and bela belew.

  54. Awget,

Are you talking about his vision for becoming alcoholic and drunk?? He is the world’s most dormant, arrogant, cruel, self pointed maniac, totalitarian, lair, divisive, murderer and subhuman our 21 century. His vision is destroying the hard earned and letting us down in front of the whole world and to become nation-less disguised and ashamed why we struggled for 30 years. We have a nation run by gangs and sectarians such as you naively or intentionally supporting evils deeds of this murderer with blood on his hands and people like encouraging to do more and more harm to execute what is left!! Visionary my ass!! Trust as all have, his time is coming and he will be prosecuted for all his doings…. The truth will prevail!!!

  55. Dear Senait,

It is the truth. We need time to swallow it and redeem. However, it should be done by Eritreans, in Eritrea, and at the ” Right Moment”. Thanks

  56. Ezana,

I never dismissed the letter exchanges between PIA and the late PMMZ. Actually I did mention that both leaders agreed to establish an inquiry committee led by General Sebhat for the Eritrean side and the then chief of staff Major Gen. Tsadqan for Ethiopian side. Now the issue is why PIA did launched an attack on badme which was administered by weyanes before even the inquiry body finishes its assigned task? And, there is no doubt that Badme has always has been a sovereign Eritrean territory and at the same time also TPLF seem to have claim on the area when it continued to administer it even after independence. Such contentious issues should have been directed to UN instead of trying to solve it bilaterally and if PIA decided to solve on friendly and bilateral bases then he should have let the inquiry body complete its task instead of launching an attack to control Badme. PIA should have learned from the Hanish incident-then Petros Solomon led the negotiation with Yemenis on the ownership of Hanish islands and before even knowing the outcome of the negotiation to Eritrean people, PIA decided to shock and owe us by taking over Hanish. It was a shock for the Yemenis why PIA decided to invade Hanish before even the negotiation got finalized. Thank God, Yemenis didn’t launch an all out war on Eritrea. Can you see the pattern between the two Ezana hawey? PIA’s problem is that he neither adheres to international norms i.e., even the Hanish issue should have been directed to the UN nor does he adhere to the agreed bilateral solution. The question is not about ownership, the crux of the matter is how one resolves conflicts without resorting to force!! Force has to be the last resort but PIA never followed this honorable policy and Eritrea is dearly paying for all his foolish adventures.
History will reveal everything when the right time comes- that is PIA is strangulating Eritrea like that proverbial Donkey which once got grab of a hyena with her might jaws and still keep holding it even after its death! I don’t want to do psycho analysis that why the donkey behaves that way- but you got the drift!!

  57. War starts because one is in violation not two. You moron get you mine straight. You seem To have too much smoke

  58. Dear Senait,

Thank you for the excellent analysis on the Eritrean sad situation. However in your analysis you blame everything that went wrong on PIA, I don’t think that is right. The responsibility goes to all who supported the war at the time. On the question of Susan Rise, I don’t know what PIA said to her, but you are right she was a junior officer of U.S. assign to find solution to the crises. Both, U.S. and Ruanda advised Eritrea, to vacate Bademe and go back to the position they were before the conflict started and negotiate later. Eritrea refused to vacate Bademe, and insisted for negotiation on the border to start. Ethiopia refused to negotiate before Eritrea vacates the occupied territory by force and declared war to force Eritrea out of Bademe. After the arbitration court declared Bademe to be Eritrean territory, the position of the two countries reversed. Ethiopia refused to vacate Bademe and insist for negotiation on border demarcation. Eritrea refused negotiation before Ethiopia vacates the occupied territory; so back to square one.

I think you are right Eritrea should take the initiative to mend relation with U.S. and its Western allies, and negotiate on the border demarcation, directly with Ethiopia. I remember when President Anwar Sadat took the bold initiative to visit Israel and directly negotiate on the occupied Sinai Peninsula occupied during the Six-Day war between Arabs and Israel, with the help of U.S. to sign Peace Treaty. Contrary to that Syria refused to negotiate and the Golan-high is still occupied after 45 years! Whether we like it or not U.S. is the only Super Power in the world with its national interest in the region, and we need to learn to live with that fact, and learn how we act in our national interest.

I read also some of pseudo nationalist Eritreans responses who rush for insults rather than reasons. On the question of who started the war, the international commission found Eritrea was guilty and I have not read any official statement from GoE to refute that conclusion. On the Bademe, the commission declared it to belong to Eritrea. Now we cannot accept one and reject the other, just because we did not like one and not the other.

  59. Please don’t be confused when you can see everything the dictator is doing. Can you say one thing that this dictator has done for this nation. Do you think keeping the constitution or justice hostage is because people need to be feed because they are taken to jail? I don’t understand does that mean feed them and kill them? How can someone eat food while not knowing what is going to happen to him/her a minute after?? To me safety or justice/protection from the self appointed government is what is needed to normalize the deep crises or from the hell or deadly ocean submerged in. So, there is NO confusion here. All we’re asking justice and the freedom to own our body and mind because this criminal regime that should have served the people has turned against his/their people. They are committing a crime against humanity in broad light and the world’s silence while this happening to my people is heartbreaking. If anything, I am not happy with the U.S. and the West for their silence while this gangs are murdering my people and my country for which we lost over 100,000 expensive lives.

  60. Dear Dawit,

As a president, the commander in chief was Issayas and he single handedly started the war and refused to negotiate with anyone including the G-15. His behavior before the war was not different from his behavior after the war. We saw and heard him undermining the weyane’s and made jock about their preparation to attack on the badme front. This is clear to everyone. You seem either misinformed or don’t want to talk about the facts and evidences out there. Issayas don’t listen to anyone but himself. The whole world knows this fact and we know he is arrogant and cruel. He needs to release those five or 6 prisoners/officials now. I am not sure if there still any survivor though. Please see the facts for yourself!

  61. Dear tomi;

Thank you for your response, yes PIA is the commander in chief and president of Eritrea and I indicated he has at the time of the Bademe border crisis, I vividly remember every Ethiopian and Eritrean was for the war. Everyone had their axes to grind. So let us not beat the dead horse forever. The international court declared Eritrea started the war and Bademe is Eritrean territory. Let move forward and resolve the problem. That is all I am saying. As the article by Senite stated, Eritrea needs to improve its relation with U.S. the Super power, and negotiate to implement the final and binding resolution about the border demarcation and create peace between the two nations. Even the problem of the prisoners is tied to the border problem. Is this hard to understand?

  62. what prof.do you have for all the things you just wrote about PIA. i am so ashamed to my selfe to hear from an eritrean this kind of nansenss about PIA.for your information eritrea has bad relationship with the usa and the west is becuase people like you and your meles,s lies.but since meles die now thinge might change i hope.

  64. Senait Shikor,
Plenty of advices have been extended to the living dead dictator over the years but sadly they all fell into a deaf ear and sadly so will yours.Of course,he won’t heed to any of our advices because he is not up to the task of saving Eritrea but the otherwise. Why would he when he reigns over a nation that has never been short of idiots and cowardice. These useful idiots and zombies have been used over and over again heavily by the dictator to prolong his power while the rest of our population is consumed by extreme fear and cowardice.Don’t be disappointed by the negative responses you receive from the rotten brain supporters of evil and of course from the website itself that has been sold to the highest bidder long ago to become a mouthpiece of the dictator.

  65. Dawit,

Thank you for addressing some of my concerns. As you said, all including you and me might not have tried to say NO for the war. Yes, Issayas seemed saint at that time and we never seen his true color. We never new that he was and still is power hungry and is ready to exterminate each of us if necessary. During his interview with VOA he openly said that he has not signed any contract and he can stay in power as long as he wanted. We have enough of this dictator and he is neither working for our beloved nation nor does he for our people. Our military defense forces are weak and their appetite to protect the nation seems connected with protecting the criminal and irresponsible regime. So, everyone is confused about where the country is heading and how to tackle our main enemy from inside and the regimes divide and conquer tactic seems to work though for an evil agenda. Again, Issayas wanted the war so badly because he was pressured to implement the constitution. As deceitful that he is, he used our innocence and lead us to a destructive war. That was not only enough he imprisoned everyone who questioned his motive and all who asked for a reform after the war are to this day put in prison. We say the G15 and the few journalists we also dying within that harsh detaining center. Today, the number of prison camps in the country exceed the number of school within the nations. I really don’t know where this tragic situation is going!!!

  66. you are a borne slave, I have never read to much stupidity coming out of one person.
the Greece where once an empire, Egypt, Maya.Rome, if everybody have had the same slave attitude back then like you those empires will not have fallen.
please keep your house Nigger mentality to yourself this is the place for coming out.

    thank you

  68. Good Job Yemane Gebreab! Time to walk the walk and hope PIA would give people like Yemane the autonomy to manage Eritrea’s foreign policy. As far as the Somali issue is concerned, Yemane’s acknoledgment of the TG is a welcome reversal of position and I suggest that Yemane not press on the Somaliland issue….that is not Eritrea’s problem. By pressing on the issue of the Somali matter, Eritrea is just negating its new position on TG which will eventually help our country to get out of the sanctions! Please listen to Yemane’s Interview! Very astute politician indeed! He would do superb job if only left alone!!

  69. Seanit -you hit the nail right on the head. Don’t worry by the PFDJ insults-they don’t know anything better except acting rude and inhuman! Their uproar and screaming shows the level of their suffered nerve by your tell-it- like-it-is approach!! Agena Senu!!
